Your new role

The P&O Director for the BASAC region is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the People & Organization agenda across the Business Area. The position acts as a critical link between BASAC and global headquarters, translating business strategy and transformation priorities into impactful P&O initiatives that drive performance, agility, and sustainable growth.

Reporting to the BASAC Vice President, the P&O Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and as an active member of regional leadership forums. The role partners closely with affiliate management teams, the regional P&O organization, and global Centers of Excellence to enable a new operating model, support agile ways of working, and strengthen leadership and organizational capabilities across BASAC.
The role provides leadership to the regional P&O organization, with five direct reports and oversight of extended P&O and HR Business Partner teams across BASAC affiliates. The P&O Director is accountable for developing senior P&O leaders, ensuring consistent execution of the P&O strategy, and fostering strong collaboration across local, regional, and global teams. Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Define and implement a BASAC-wide People & Organization strategy aligned with global P&O direction, regional ambitions, and current and mid-term business objectives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the BASAC Vice President and leadership teams, contributing to business planning, decision-making, and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and capability building to support performance in fast-changing and competitive market conditions.
  • Lead, develop, and engage the regional P&O team, ensuring strong talent management, succession planning, and people development across BASAC.
  • Ensure effective governance, alignment, and execution of P&O initiatives across affiliates, in close collaboration with global P&O, Centers of Excellence, and key stakeholders.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree required; Advanced Degree (Master’s, MBA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Solid experience in People & Organization / Human Resources roles, with strong exposure to strategic, regional, or multinational environments.
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience leading senior teams and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into practical people and organizational solutions.
  • Experience supporting transformation, organizational change, and new ways of working.
  • Multinational experience required; international experience is a strong plus.
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience is desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% across the BASAC region.

About the Department

People & Organization (P&O) for the BASAC region is responsible for delivering strategic HR leadership and operational excellence across all markets, ensuring alignment between business priorities and people initiatives. The department oversees talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, organizational design, employee relations and compliance with local labor regulations, while promoting a culture of inclusion, integrity and continuous development. Working closely with business leaders and global P&O functions, the BASAC P&O team drives workforce planning, leadership development and change management to support sustainable growth and business objectives.
