People Operations Specialist

What You'll Do:
- Support payroll processing as a backup, ensuring accuracy in hours, deductions, and benefit adjustments.
- Assist employees with payroll questions and help resolve discrepancies.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment support.
- Serve as a point of contact for benefits-related questions and coordinate with vendors.
- Manage FMLA and other leave requests, including documentation, tracking, and communication.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to leave and employment practices.
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, and return-to-work support.
- Manage unemployment claims, support documentation, and response processes.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, events, and company programs.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 2–5 years of HR experience, ideally in payroll, benefits, or HR operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, workers’ compensation, and unemployment processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom experience is a plus).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
