People Operations Coordinator

KBR is looking for an HR Operations Coordinator to work in our Leatherhead offices.

The HR Operations Coordinator plays a key role in delivering an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused HR service across the employee lifecycle.

Responsible for supporting core HR processes, maintaining employee records, and resolving employee queries, the role ensures a positive employee experience while maintaining high standards of data accuracy, compliance, and service delivery.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in HR Operations. Alongside delivering high-quality administrative and employee lifecycle support, the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop expertise in HR systems, data management, process improvement, and operational excellence, creating a strong foundation for future growth within the People function.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes, and offboarding.
• Prepare and issue employment contracts, offer letters, employment-related correspondence, and HR documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems, ensuring data integrity at all times.
• Support payroll processes through timely and accurate processing of employee changes.
• Administer absence management, probation reviews, and other employee-related processes.
• Manage and respond to employee and manager queries, providing timely resolution and escalating where appropriate.
• Monitor shared HR inboxes and action requests within agreed service levels.
• Support the administration of employee benefits and associated documentation.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and data protection requirements.
• Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, proposing practical solutions to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the development of efficient, scalable, and customer-focused HR processes.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Comfortable working with defined processes, procedures, and detailed administrative tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

• Experience working in a customer service, administration, operations, shared services, or support environment.
• Previous HR administration or HR Operations experience.
• CIPD qualification or working towards a CIPD qualification.
• Experience using HR systems such as Workday.

Knowledge & Skills

• A genuine interest in developing a career within HR Operations, Shared Services, or People Systems.
• Curiosity and a desire to understand how HR processes, systems, and data support the employee lifecycle.
• Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to delivering an excellent employee experience.
• Understanding of the importance of data quality, reporting, and process governance within HR Operations.
• Interest in HR systems and data management, with a willingness to develop expertise in Workday and related people technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and relationship management skills.
• Basic analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support informed decision-making.
• Ability to learn new systems, technologies, and processes quickly.
• Awareness of process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement principles (desirable).
• Working knowledge of UK employment legislation and GDPR principles (desirable).
