Alector is a late-stage clinical biotechnology company focused on developing therapies that counteract the devastating progression of neurodegeneration. We are committed to advancing science that empowers the immune system to restore brain health. We believe that bold thinking, deep collaboration, and continuous innovation—especially through emerging technologies like AI—are essential to achieving our mission.
As a People Operations Systems Specialist (Temporary), you will strengthen and scale our People Operations infrastructure with a focus on workflow design, automation, and employee experience. You will be a key driver in transforming how work gets done—using AI, large language models (LLMs), and automation tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
You will serve as a trusted front-line resource for employees while partnering cross-functionally with IT, Payroll, Finance, Facilities, and Talent Acquisition. We are looking for someone who is energized by solving operational challenges and reimagining processes through technology.
This role is based at Alector’s headquarters in South San Francisco, CA and requires onsite presence three days per week (24 hours/week total).

We are a late-stage clinical biotechnology company with a mission to make degenerative brain disorders history. Our robust portfolio of therapies is focused on counteracting the devastating progression of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly in areas of high unmet need where therapeutic options are limited. We are at the forefront of a scientific and clinical revolution, committed to understanding the complex mechanisms that drive neurodegenerative diseases, including the roles of toxic misfolded proteins, deficient proteins, and lysosomal, immune system, and neuronal dysfunction.
We aim to develop product candidates that remove toxic proteins, replace critical deficient proteins, and restore immune and nerve cells to normal function. To pursue this aim, we are advancing a portfolio of programs that address genetically validated targets. These programs leverage our deep understanding of the genetic underpinnings of these diseases, combined with our expertise in drug development, proprietary protein engineering, antibody discovery, and our innovative Alector Brain Carrier (ABC) technology for blood-brain barrier (BBB) transport. We are advancing ABC, our proprietary, versatile BBB technology platform and selectively applying it within our portfolio.
Alector is based in South San Francisco, CA. We were founded in 2013 by thought leaders in biotechnology, neuroscience, and antibody drug discovery.
