About the team

Data, reporting, analytics and AI are increasingly important to PwC NL. To support this, we operate a modern data ecosystem built on Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Integration Services, with multiple teams delivering platform capabilities and data products across the organization. You are based at our Amsterdam main office (with flexibility through hybrid working), will collaborate with PwC internal teams worldwide and with a variety of vendors.

Your role

In this role, you combine People Manager and Release Train Engineer (RTE) responsibilities. This role offers a unique combination of people leadership and agile delivery leadership. As the key member of ART leadership team, you will help grow and develop key data professionals while steering the Data ART that enables reporting, analytics and AI capabilities across PwC.

Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Release Train Engineer (RTE) for Data Agile Release Train (ART) works closely with the Product Manager and ART System Architect to coordinate and steer multiple teams across the organization. Day to day, you will help steer the ART consisting of five or more teams, including the Integration Platform team, the Reporting & Analytics Platform team, and multiple Reporting & Analytics product teams. You will be responsible for managing ART vision and roadmap; ensuring that ART backlog is aligned with strategic priorities and ensure effective alignment between business priorities, available resources and execution.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating ART planning and delivery
  • Managing resource dependencies, risks and impediments
  • Driving capacity, velocity, predictability improvements and delivery performance
  • Ensures the smooth operation of regular ART events and practices
  • Defining and monitoring KPIs for ART performance
  • Supporting continuous improvement within the SAFe framework

People Manager

As People Manager, you will lead two teams within the Reporting & Analytics domain (approximately 12-15 data professionals)

  • The Reporting & Analytics Platform team (Databricks/ Microsoft Fabric)
  • The Central Business Intelligence team delivering analytics products

As a People Manager, you look after employees, helping them succeed in the fast-paced and demanding Agile environment. The role requires a combination of talent management, strengthening team conditions, promoting growth, and employee well-being.

  • Hiring, staffing and onboarding – recruiting for cultural fit and facilitating the growth of teams

Quality, Governance & Stakeholder Management

At PwC, control awareness is key. You safeguard the quality, security and compliance of the platform and understand processes around incident, change, release and access management, in line with our data governance framework. You build and maintain strong relationships with the CIO, CDO, Architects, Data (Product) Owners, Information Managers and internal clients.

What we expect from you

You are an experienced people leader who thrives in a large-scale Agile environment and enjoys helping individuals and teams succeed. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams,

  • Hold a completed HBO or university degree (bachelor or master)
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing (our official working language is English)
  • Proven experience leading and developing IT, data or engineering professionals
  • Experience working in a SAFe or large-scale agile environment
  • Experience with workforce planning, recruitment and talent development
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to create alignment across teams
  • A data-driven mindset, with experience using KPIs to improve team performance
  • A team builder who invests in growth, collaboration, and a positive working atmosphere
  • Familiarity with IT operations, data /software engineering, and/ or software development practices (SDLC) is an advantage but not essential
