Would you like to be part of an innovative company with a significant social impact? Innovamat is looking for someone like you.

About Innovamat

Innovamat is an educational organization specializing in mathematics education. Founded in Barcelona in 2017, Innovamat provides schools with a complete, research-based math program covering Early Childhood through Secondary Education, grounded in research across mathematics education, cognition, and neuroscience.

Innovamat also partners with leading thinkers and researchers in mathematics education, including Peter Liljedahl, author of Building Thinking Classrooms, and Brian Butterworth, a leading researcher in mathematical cognition and dyscalculia, bringing world-class expertise and perspectives into our broader work.

Our program integrates curriculum, teacher training, assessment, and intervention into a single coherent system. Today, Innovamat is present in 9 countries, partnering with 31,000+ teachers across 3,300+ schools and reaching more than 720,000 students. We are one of the few organizations in the sector with independently validated efficacy data from external research institutions, and the first non-American organization to pass the California State Board of Education adoption process for a core math curriculum.

About the Role

We’re looking for a People Lead to help shape the next chapter of Innovamat’s growth in the United States.

This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of people, leadership, culture, and business. You’ll work closely with U.S. leadership, our CRO, CEO, and Global Head of People to shape the U.S. People agenda, strengthen our organization, and create an exceptional employee experience.

What makes this role special is the opportunity to build and evolve the People function alongside the business. We see People as a strategic enabler: creating the structure and processes needed to scale, while keeping bureaucracy low and the organization agile. You’ll also play a key role in empowering managers to own their people, giving them the tools and support to lead effectively.

We’re looking for a builder at heart—someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks strategically, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to turn challenges into solutions.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy, Architecture & Organization

  • Partner with the Global Head of People to bring global People priorities to life in the U.S., adapting them to the needs of the business while identifying opportunities to strengthen our organization, leadership, performance, and capabilities as we scale.
  • Ensure the U.S. People infrastructure, policies, processes, and practices are effective, consistent, employee-centric, and aligned with local requirements.
  • Lead high-impact People projects from problem definition through execution, building scalable solutions as the organization evolves.

People Business Partnering & Development

  • Drive a strong employee experience across onboarding, engagement, performance, learning & development, and succession planning.
  • Be a trusted partner to managers and employees through the moments that matter, including performance conversations, employee relations, career development, and key transitions.
  • Turn feedback, employee insights, and business needs into actions that strengthen our culture and employee experience.
  • Build a culture of growth and high performance, creating opportunities for employees to develop their skills and careers.

People Operations, Processes & Employee Support

  • Own the U.S. benefits and employee lifecycle end-to-end, making benefits easy to understand and serving as a trusted point of contact for employee questions, changes, and issues.
  • Build simple, scalable, and efficient People processes and systems, continuously reducing friction and improving the employee experience.

Partnering with the US Leadership Team

  • Partner closely with the Global Head of People and the CRO to shape the U.S. People agenda, ensuring People priorities are closely connected to business strategy and the needs of the U.S. organization.
  • Use data, employee insights, and business context to identify opportunities and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the US leadership team, helping leaders make thoughtful, data-informed decisions that strengthen teams, performance, engagement, and retention.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in People/HR, People Business Partnering, People Operations, or leading business teams being responsible for similar People functions.
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leaders and managers.
  • Experience across performance, engagement, development, employee relations, and other areas of the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience in an international or U.S. organization is a strong plus.
  • Experience building People processes, programs, or teams from scratch is highly valued.
  • We’re especially excited about people coming from management consulting, early-stage startups, high-growth companies, technology, marketplaces, or other data-driven commercial environments. Entrepreneurial experience is a big plus: if you’ve founded a company, built a project from scratch, or taken significant ownership of a new initiative, we’d love to hear from you.

Skills

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people initiatives to organizational outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to People decisions.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate complex situations.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and resourceful.

Mindsets You Embody

As a People Lead, you’ll be one of the strongest culture carriers in the U.S. You’ll help shape not only what we do, but how we work, lead, and grow together. Our values aren’t words on a wall—they’re the mindsets we bring to our decisions, our relationships, and the way we build Innovamat.

  • We aim high. You set ambitious goals, challenge the status quo, and are always looking for ways to raise the bar.
  • We are owners. You take responsibility, follow through, and care deeply about the impact of your work.
  • We move fast. You’re energized by ambiguity and know when to act, test, learn, and iterate rather than wait for perfect answers.
  • We are eager to learn. You’re curious, ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and are always looking for a better way.
  • We are humble. You leave your ego at the door, listen deeply, and care more about finding the right answer than being right.
  • We enjoy the ride. You bring energy, optimism, resilience, and a sense of fun—and help make the journey better for the people around you.

What You’ll Get

  • The opportunity to shape the People function in the U.S. at an international organization with a meaningful social mission.
  • Direct partnership with U.S. leadership and the Global People team.
  • Meaningful ownership and the opportunity to see your work translate into real organizational impact.
  • A collaborative, international environment with plenty of room to grow.
  • 5% 401(k) match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 22 days PTO plus our company Christmas shutdown.
  • Team offsites and travel opportunities.

If you think you are that person we are looking for, we would love to meet you!
