Job Description

Your Opportunity to SHINE ON: Step into a newly created role designed to elevate how People & Culture team delivers impact across the organization—where you will partner directly with the Vice President to turn strategy into action, align and execute key initiatives, and ensure every priority is delivered with clarity and purpose. As the central coordination point, you will drive the integrated People & Culture calendar, enable effective change, and leverage data-driven insights to strengthen service delivery and operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to shape and define the role from the ground up; building structure, enhancing accountability, and creating a consistent, high-impact employee experience where people and performance thrive.

WHY you’ll love Y Winnipeg: At the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg, you’ll join a purpose-driven organization with over 145 years of trusted community impact, continuously evolving while staying rooted in belonging, connection, and well-being. As Manitoba’s largest child care provider and a vital part of the region’s social infrastructure, the Y reaches over a million visits each year through its community hubs and creates life-changing experiences at Camp Stephens, where generations have grown and thrived for over 135 years. Guided by an ambitious 2024–2030 Strategic Plan, this is your opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and help build stronger, more inclusive communities across Winnipeg.

HOW you’ll create Moments that Matter

  • Project Planning & Execution: Coordinates the execution of the People & Culture Strategic Action Plan by translating priorities into structured plans, managing the integrated HR calendar, and partnering with the VP to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Change Management: Supports the implementation of change initiatives by coordinating communication, stakeholder engagement, and rollout activities, while ensuring alignment, tracking adoption, and recommending improvements to enhance outcomes and employee experience.
  • People Analytics: Advances a data-informed approach by managing People & Culture metrics, developing dashboards, and translating workforce and HR ticketing data into actionable insights to strengthen service delivery and continuous improvement.

You’ll bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Project Management, Organizational Design, Business Analysis, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience); progress toward a CPHR or PMP designation is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination and execution, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into structured plans, manage timelines, support change initiatives, and drive alignment and adoption across diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities, including experience with people analytics and dashboards, interpreting service delivery metrics (e.g., ticketing systems), and applying insights to improve impact, while effectively managing competing priorities and contributing to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

How Y Winnipeg Supports Your Impact: At YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg, we invest in your growth and well-being through paid professional development opportunities, supporting you to build skills and advance your impact in the community. We take overall wellness seriously and this comes with a complimentary Y membership, access to an Employee Assistance Program, and comprehensive benefits including extended healthcare and pension plan matching.
