The role

As a People Data Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll join our People Data, Analytics and Strategic Workforce Planning team, helping to drive data-informed decision-making across Babcock International Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a growing and evolving people analytics function, transforming complex workforce data into meaningful insights that influence strategic decisions.

You'll collaborate with HR professionals and business stakeholders across the organisation, delivering impactful analytics that support workforce planning, organisational growth, and operational success. Whether you're developing innovative dashboards, uncovering trends in large datasets, or improving reporting processes, your work will directly contribute to creating a stronger, more agile workforce.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to

  • Collaborate with HR teams and business stakeholders to deliver workforce insights that support strategic workforce planning and business priorities.
  • Clean, analyse and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities while maintaining high levels of data quality.
  • Design, develop and maintain engage Power BI dashboards and reports that bring workforce data to life.
  • Automate and improve reporting processes using tools such as SQL, Power Query and DAX.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis, project work and strategic reporting that supports business performance and decision-making.

This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week and can be performed remotely from anywhere within the UK. Candidates must be within reasonable travelling distance of one of our key hub locations, including Bristol, Plymouth, Rosyth or Warrington, as occasional travel to a Babcock site will be required.

Essential experience of the People Data Analyst

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, including advanced Excel, Power BI, DAX, Power Query and ideally SQL.
  • Experience working within agile project delivery environments and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, quality and integrity.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports and visualisations that support business decision-making.

Qualifications for the People Data Analyst

  • Degree-level qualification in Information Technology, Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.

Desirable

  • Project management certification or experience, such as PRINCE2 or Agile Project Management.
  • Relevant analytics, business intelligence or data visualisation certifications.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
