We are seeking a highly energetic People & Culture Manager with proven experience gained from large infrastructure projects/ programs of work to join our Fulton Hogan Utilities business in New South Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your career within a vibrant delivery team that is proud to partner with our client to deliver world class utilities services for the customers and communities within which we operate.

As People & Culture Manager, you’ll work in a Joint Venture across five parent organisations to ensure a consistent high-performing approach, while keeping accountability clear. You’ll bring a strong people lens to strategic decisions, lead culture and change initiatives.

This is not a traditional HR role. It’s a strategic opportunity for an experienced leader who can influence across multiple stakeholders, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and help ensure the JV remains aligned and delivery focused.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with stakeholders across the Fulton Hogan Utilities business and the Joint Venture to identify and implement people strategies that have a meaningful impact on employee performance, engagement and effectiveness

  • Lead the development and implementation of People & Culture policies and procedures in line with business objectives, legislative requirements and contemporary HR practices

  • Provide advice on everything from employee relations, award/enterprise agreement interpretation, organisational effectiveness, talent retention, succession planning, remuneration reviews and performance appraisals

  • Ensure compliance with internal human resource policies, procedures and practices, and with relevant labour and employment legislations

  • Work closely with People and Culture business partners and recruitment professionals to share information so there is a consistency of approach and best practice in people management practices across the Fulton Hogan Utilities business

  • Deliver best practice advice and guidance on a range of generalist HR matters

  • Champion a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across the organisation, and consistently behave in accordance with Fulton Hogan values.

How you'll connect to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in the Human Resources/related discipline

  • Previous experience managing, guiding, supporting, coaching and developing leaders and employees in HR matters, ideally in a construction environment

  • Experience leading culture, transformation and change

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant HR/Industrial Relations legislation

  • A passion for building High performing teams and building partnerships within the business to ensure a collaborative approach with all stakeholders

  • A high level of positivity and energy and the ability to work in a complex, fast-paced and multi-entity environments

  • Ability to identify key issues & problems and pick the best choice among alternatives
