Job Description

People & Culture Coordinator (HR & Operations)

Melbourne CBD (Full-time or 4 days pro rata considered)

Salary $64,000 to $66,000 + genuine career pathway into HR

This is not your typical entry-level HR role.

We’re looking for someone ready to build a long-term career in People & Culture, who already brings real-world experience, resilience, and the confidence to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Whether you’re early in your HR journey or transitioning from a high-energy role (retail, hospitality, operations, recruitment), this is an opportunity to step into a hands-on, high-impact position where you’ll gain exposure across the full employee lifecycle.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you’ll sit at the operational core of the business with supporting both our people and the day-to-day running of the office.

This is a hands-on role, combining HR coordination, office operations, and employee experience. You’ll be trusted with real responsibility from day one and play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly.

You will be involved in:

  • End-to-end employee lifecycle coordination (onboarding, contracts, compliance)
  • Supporting HR processes, reporting, and audits
  • Managing day-to-day office operations and front-of-house experience
  • Coordinating all events and engagement initiatives
  • Working closely with leaders across the business

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys being in the middle of the action, and takes pride in owning their space. About Us

Tradewind Australia is a leading recruitment agency partnering with education, social services and corporate organisations. Our business is values driven, people focused and committed to delivering high quality service across every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • People administration - Prepare onboarding documentation and coordinate inductions
  • Maintain HRIS systems and employee records
  • Track probation reviews, appraisals and development conversations
  • Support engagement surveys, compliance audits and policy reviews
  • Maintain templates, policies and internal documentation
  • Prepare workforce reporting including starters, leavers and compliance summaries
  • Running and owning monthly audits

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and real HR decision-making
  • Broad experience across HR, operations, and employee experience
  • Clear pathway into growing your HR career
  • High-performing, fast-paced environment where you’ll develop quickly
  • CBD office location, close to public transport
  • Full-time or 4-day structure available

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong fit if you bring:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (e.g. retail, hospitality, recruitment, operations)
  • The ability to handle pressure, juggle priorities, and stay organised
  • Confidence to communicate with a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset where you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability for your work

And one of the following:

  • 1–2 years experience in HR, recruitment, admin or coordination

Or

  • 4–5+ years in a fast-paced operational role and looking to transition into HR

What You’ll Be Doing

People & Culture

  • Coordinating onboarding, contracts, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Maintaining HR systems and employee records
  • Supporting performance review cycles and compliance processes
  • Assisting with reporting, audits, and policy updates

Office Operations & Front of House

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the office
  • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors and stakeholders
  • Coordinating facilities, suppliers, and office logistics

Employee Experience & Events

  • Supporting internal events, wellbeing initiatives, and engagement activities
  • Working with Marketing on internal communications and materials

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a Coordinator or Administrator role
  • Qualification in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
  • Building/Office management
  • Exposure to employment legislation or recruitment sector compliance
  • Experience supporting onboarding, contracts and employee lifecycle processes

The Environment

This is a hands-on, in-office role where you’ll be part of a collaborative and high-performing team.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being present, involved, and contributing to the energy of the workplace where you are not just working behind the scenes.

If you are ready to step into a role that offers both ownership and balance, we welcome your application.
