Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on, generalist P&C role with a strong focus on end-to-end Employment Relations. You’ll work across multiple sites and offices, partnering closely with managers to build capability, navigate people matters, and create positive outcomes for teams and the business.

You’ll play a key role in leading disciplinary and performance processes, investigations, and personal grievances, helping ensure our approach is aligned with policy and current employment law while remaining practical, fair, and people focused. This is a role where you can make a real difference every day — supporting leaders, strengthening team performance, and seeing the impact of your work firsthand.

  • Coach and support managers to handle people matters well, providing practical, risk-aware advice and guidance.

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and employment agreements so they are current, practical, and easy to use.

  • Support key HR cycles such as performance reviews and salary processes, delivering accurate and timely information and insights.

  • Promote a positive safety, quality, and people culture by role-modelling our values and supporting leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve the way we work and contribute to people-related projects and initiatives.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Solid Employment Relations experience, with the confidence to manage disciplinary and performance processes, investigations, and personal grievances from start to finish.

  • At least 2+ years’ experience in a generalist HR/P&C Advisor role or similar.

  • Strong working knowledge of current employment legislation and the ability to apply it in a practical, real-world way.

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence others, and coach managers at different levels.

  • Strong organisation, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in HR or a related field is advantageous, along with a full Class 1 driver’s licence.

You’ll be someone who is curious, calm under pressure, and confident asking questions, challenging constructively, and finding better ways to do things. You’ll bring a practical mindset, strong judgement, and a collaborative approach.
