Let’s Build Great Experiences Together!

As a team of ambitious individuals, we strive to be the best at what we do. We have an entrepreneurial and creative approach to get the job done. Do you have a great attitude about life? Are you a great communicator with the ability to learn? Do you have tenacity, grit and are unafraid to fail? If you answered yes to these questions, we want you on our team!

About the Job

As the People Business Partner you will be our on-site owner of employee relations and HR compliance — the person managers and employees turn to for day-to-day people questions, and the one who keeps leave, workers' comp, and our HR policies running smoothly.

This is a generalist role with real ownership — less about any single specialty and more about being the steady, trusted hand for everything from a tricky manager conversation to a workers' comp claim.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Employee relations: Be the primary point of contact for ER matters for your client group — coaching managers, running routine investigations, and knowing when to bring the Director in.
  • Leave & workers' comp: Own leave-of-absence administration (FMLA, state leave, ADA accommodations) and workers' comp claims end to end, including return-to-work coordination.
  • Handbook & policy: Keep our employee handbook and HR policies current day to day.
  • Job descriptions & org changes: Partner with managers on writing and maintaining job descriptions, and process organizational changes like role or reporting-line updates.
  • Exits: Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and unemployment claims.
  • Recruiting backup: Flex into recruiting support alongside the Talent & Programs Partner during peak hiring periods.
  • Manager coaching: Be the go-to resource for people managers navigating day-to-day HR decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience, with real exposure to employee relations and leave/compliance administration.
  • Hands-on experience administering leave programs (FMLA, state leave, ADA) and workers' comp claims
  • Comfortable with employee relations and compliance matters, with good judgment about what to handle directly versus escalate.
  • Fair, consistent, and well-documented approach to employee relations.
  • Strong organizational skills — this role juggles multiple live employee situations at once.
  • A natural collaborator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hybrid remote/on-site team structure.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and handbook/policy management tools.

Let’s talk money and perks!

Turning Point Brands offer a competitive salary and benefits.

$55,000-$60,000 base salary + performance based incentives with quarterly payout - NO CAP ON EARNINGS!

  • 12 Paid Holidays
  • PTO (Paid Time Off)

  • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance
  • Short Term Disability Insurance
  • Basic Life Insurance

The world-famous Zig-Zag® brand has a proud heritage of leadership dating to 1879. Zig-Zag® is the leading premium paper in both the U.S. and Canada.
