Status: Permanent Full-time or Part-time (0.8 FTE negotiable)

Are you a strategic HR leader who believes that psychologically safe, trauma-informed workplaces create stronger teams, and that organisational values and culture are at the heart of sustainable connections and performance?
Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC) is seeking an experienced People and Culture Manager to lead our Human Resources and Client Experience functions and strengthen our trauma-informed, values-led organisation.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can combine strategy, governance and operational excellence, while fostering psychological safety, engagement and accountability across a complex community services environment.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead organisational development and workforce strategy
  • Partner with Executive to embed a trauma-informed culture (Sanctuary Model)
  • Provide expert advice on complex people matters
  • Oversee employment classification, recruitment governance and WHS
  • Drive leadership capability and workforce sustainability
  • Deliver workforce reporting and insights to Executive and Board

This role is critical to ensuring UMFC remains compliant, sustainable and an employer of choice in regional Victoria.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Degree qualification in Human Resource Management (or equivalent)
  • Senior HR leadership experience (4-5+ years)
  • Demonstrated experience leading organisation-wide change
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and industrial frameworks
  • Experience managing complex workplace matters
  • Experience in supporting and coordinating workplace health, safety and wellbeing
    initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Confidence advising Executive leaders
  • Strong systems thinking and workforce planning capability
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance and HR systems
