We are seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner with strong Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) capability Supporting our operations across Northern NSW, you’ll partner with leaders in professional, clinical and award‑covered environments.
We are seeking candidates that are based in Newcastle or surrounding areas and are willing to travel to our Northern NSW sites.
This is a hands‑on, trusted role working with a geographically dispersed and culturally diverse workforce, providing strategic, operational and day‑to‑day support.
In this role you will:
Manage the effective and efficient delivery of people services in line with best practice, policies and procedures, including coaching and mentoring leaders.
Provide specialist advice on employee relations, performance management, grievances, investigations and complex case matters.
Support claims that progress to external industrial and regulatory bodies.
Coach leaders in people strategies and processes, including engagement, development and performance.
Promote People & Culture practices that support organisational success, including continuous improvement and the development of HR solutions for short‑ to medium‑term priorities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted interface between parties.
Exercise sound judgement, empathy and discretion when managing sensitive and complex people matters.
Our expectations are that you have:
Proven experience as a People & Culture Business Partner, working collaboratively with leaders and diverse stakeholders.
Strong employee relations experience including managing cases internally and externally with experience working with the Fair Work commission.
Experience in fast‑paced environments with geographically dispersed teams.
Demonstrated capability in supporting organisational and people‑focused change initiatives.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including NES, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
Ability to build trust, influence effectively and coach leaders and team members.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
