Job Description

Be part of a transformation

This is a great time to step into a People and Culture function that’s shifting from transactional to truly strategic.

With new systems and leadership in place, the focus is on better supporting teams, lifting capability, and enabling people to do their best work across a national network of clinics.

We’re looking for a People and Culture Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to leaders, supporting performance, engagement, and culture across multiple sites.

The role

You’ll partner with around 25 clinics, supporting circa 600 employees and 40 leaders.

This is a true business partnering role. You’ll be building strong relationships, influencing at all levels, and driving initiatives that make a real difference.

You’ll work across the full employee lifecycle. Workforce planning, talent development, engagement, ER, and organisational development.

Why this role matters

This role sits at the centre of enabling people to thrive.

You’ll work closely with leaders to align people strategies with business goals, providing practical, commercially grounded advice.

It’s about moving away from reactive HR and into proactive, forward-thinking people solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partnering with leaders to understand their objectives and deliver people strategies that lift performance and engagement

  • Embedding yourself in the business and shifting focus from reactive ER to proactive solutions

  • Providing advice and coaching across ER, leadership development, performance management, and organisational development

  • Working constructively with unions, including regular engagement and supporting collective bargaining

  • Leading succession and talent planning initiatives

  • Building leader capability and confidence to manage people matters independently

  • Working closely with wider People and Culture and Learning and Development teams to deliver data-informed, system-driven solutions

What success looks like:

  • Strong, trusted relationships with leaders

  • Increased capability and confidence across leadership teams

  • More proactive management of ER and union engagement

  • Clear feedback from the business on the value you’re adding

  • Practical, balanced solutions that combine compliance with common sense

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in HR generalist, advisory, or business partnering roles

  • Experience across talent acquisition and broader people functions

  • Comfortable working in complex or multi-site environments

  • Confidence working with unions or collective agreements

  • Strong coaching and capability-building skills

  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

  • Pragmatic, commercially aware, and able to work with a mix of leadership styles

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills

  • Comfortable with systems and supporting others to use them

Healthcare experience isn’t essential. What matters is your ability to work with a range of stakeholders and support teams delivering important services to communities.

What’s on offer:

  • Competitive salary package

  • Professional development opportunities

  • Free GP consultations for you and your family

  • Free parking (subject to availability)

Flexibility:

  • One day working from home

  • Flexible start and finish times

Travel:

  • Around 20% travel across clinics, mainly Auckland with occasional regional trips

The environment

You’ll be joining a close-knit, purpose-driven People and Culture team focused on enabling real impact.

Working alongside experienced HR professionals and supportive leadership, you’ll have the opportunity to influence, coach, and be part of meaningful change.
