About the role

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused People and Culture Advisor to provide high-quality advisory and operational support across a range of workforce matters at NESA.

Working within a collaborative and evolving People and Culture team, you will partner with managers and employees to deliver timely, practical and people-centred advice across the employee lifecycle. As a team, we are focused on strengthening our foundations, refining our operating model and enhancing our service offerings to support exceptional business outcomes and deliver impactful people initiatives across the organisation.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Providing HR advice and operational support across a range of workforce matters including onboarding, leave, mobility, flexible working, performance and development
  • Managing and responding to employee and manager queries, including Award and policy interpretation
  • Supporting workforce initiatives, cyclical activities and people programs
  • Conducting research and applying problem-solving skills to provide accurate and timely advice
  • Preparing workforce documentation, communications and reports
  • Building strong working relationships and collaborating across People and Culture teams to support consistent service delivery
  • Supporting continuous improvement and project activities across the broader team

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience delivering HR advisory services in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment conditions, Awards, policies and employee lifecycle processes
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and sound problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical advice

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of HR advisory services
  • Demonstrated research and problem-solving skills to resolve queries across the employee lifecycle
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and strong relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills.

Note: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role It is not required at the application stage. The cost of the WWCC clearance is the responsibility of the successful applicant.
