Join Our People Services Team as a People Advisor!

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Business Partnering & Employee Relations (ER) team. As a People Advisor, you will play a key role in advancing the council's people priorities. You will provide comprehensive ER advice and guidance to managers, enabling the achievement of service plans and objectives. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of ER policies, procedures, and initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting best practices for a positive and productive work environment.

More about the role:

  • ER Advice and Support: Provide timely advice on a range of employee relations matters including absence management. You will attend meetings and deliver briefings as required to ensure fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work collaboratively with colleagues to address ER issues and contribute to effective problem resolution.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Produce, analyse, and interpret management information related to employee relations matters. Use this data to inform interventions that assist services in meeting their KPIs, such as reducing sickness absence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with People Services colleagues to deliver council objectives with a focus on absence management.

Please note: This is a fixed term opportunity ending in May 2027.

More about you:

  • A keen interest in interpreting data, identifying trends, and developing new ideas and solutions for service improvements.
  • Experience advising managers, utilising your up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and related policies and procedures.
  • A team player with a flexible approach to managing workloads in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships and build and maintain networks with key stakeholders.
