Role overview

The People Adviser will play a key role within the People Team, partnering closely with People Business Partners to provide high-quality HR support across FRP's UK, Isle of Man and Cyprus operations. This is a varied and fast-paced generalist role, supporting the employee lifecycle and delivering practical, commercially focused people solutions across a diverse and growing business.

Working with stakeholders at all levels, the People Adviser will provide advice on employee relations, performance management, policy application, organisational change, talent acquisition, employee wellbeing and people processes. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working at pace and building strong relationships across the firm.

This role would suit an experienced HR professional who has developed their career within a larger organisation or People function and is looking to broaden their exposure in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line and advisory support to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters, ensuring advice is pragmatic, commercially focused and aligned with company policy and employment legislation.
• Support People Business Partners with employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, flexible working, performance management and capability matters.
• Draft correspondence, meeting documentation and outcome letters relating to employee relations activity.
• Where required, partner with managers to support effective people decision-making and build management capability.
• Support the wider team with organisational change initiatives including acquisitions, team changes and business integration activity.
• Assist with performance and talent processes, including probation reviews, annual performance reviews and talent development.
• Support recruitment and onboarding activities, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and new joiners.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure People systems and documentation are up to date.
• Analyse and interpret people data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, providing insights to People Business Partners and business leaders.
• Contribute to People Team projects and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance employee experience and operational effectiveness.
• Support the review, development and implementation of People policies, procedures and best practice guidance.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider People Team to ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a generalist HR Adviser role is essential
• Experience working within a larger organisation with established People processes and People teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Demonstrable experience supporting a wide range of employee relations matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High levels of discretion, professionalism and attention to detail.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards qualification.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams.
• Professional services experience is desirable
