Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Pension Fund Accounts Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their pension fund operations.

Position: Pension Fund Accounts Officer

Rate: £400 per day (Umbrella)

Contract Duration: Temp (Dec 2026) Possible Extension

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Purpose:

  • Reporting to the Investment & Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the financial integrity of the Pension Fund.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the compilation: You will work closely with the Manager to compile the Pension Fund Report & Accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
  • Complex Reconciliations: You will take ownership of complex reconciliations, ensuring they are recorded accurately within the Council’s financial reporting systems.
  • You will be responsible for clearing Pension Fund suspense account items on a monthly basis, ensuring alignment with the chart of accounts.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with complex financial reconciliations, suspense accounts, and general ledger systems.
  • An understanding of CIPFA requirements and pension fund
  • accounting is highly desirable.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
