Job Description
Working remotely, the FIT Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for student engagement initiatives, attendance interventions, PBIS implementation, and engagement-based student support systems across grades K–12. This position supervises school-year-cycle Engagement Specialists responsible for student support caseloads, interventions, and engagement initiatives.
The FIT Coordinator collaborates within schoolwide MTSS processes by coordinating intervention implementation, engagement supports, and follow-through activities. This role collaborates closely with counselors, administrators, teachers, PBIS teams, and Engagement staff to ensure students remain connected, supported, engaged, and academically successful.
The FIT Coordinator leads student support meetings, oversees intervention follow-through, monitors engagement and attendance barriers, and coordinates re-engagement systems for students identified as academically, behaviorally, or attendance at-risk.
Other key responsibilities include the following:
People Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and support school-year-cycle Engagement Specialists across grades K–12;
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support to Engagement Specialists;
Systems / Cross-Functional Leadership
- Participate in MTSS processes by supporting intervention implementation and engagement-related follow-through across grade bands;
- Facilitate cross-functional student support processes in partnership with counselors, administrators, teachers, and support teams;
- Support implementation of schoolwide engagement initiatives and tiered interventions;
- Participate in leadership planning and student success initiatives;
Student Support / Operational Responsibilities
- Monitor engagement trends, attendance patterns, behavioral concerns, and intervention outcomes;
- Participate in student support meetings and coordinate engagement intervention implementation;
- Facilitate communication between students, families, teachers, counselors, and leadership teams;
- Assist with student re-engagement planning and attendance recovery efforts;
- Monitor homeroom engagement systems, intervention documentation, and outreach follow-through;
- Support student and family onboarding, transitions, and re-engagement efforts;
- Support implementation of positive student behavior supports and relationship-centered intervention practices;
- Assist with schoolwide engagement activities, PBIS incentives, and communication systems;
Data / Improvement / Compliance
- Use engagement, attendance, behavior, and intervention data to evaluate effectiveness and support decision-making;
- Stay current on attendance, engagement, PBIS, and MTSS-related policies and procedures;
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Administrative, counseling, intervention, student services, or management experience within a school environment preferred;
- Experience supporting MTSS systems, PBIS implementation, student engagement initiatives, or intervention planning;
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills;
- Technologically proficient with student data systems and Microsoft Office products;
- Experience supervising staff preferred; and
- Ability to travel as needed.
