Job Description

Located just north of Pittsburgh, it is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County with over 8,500 students. We are seeking a Pennsylvania Certified Teacher to work as an Extended Substitute at Ingomar Middle School from the start of the school year until October 16, 2026. The candidate must hold a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Music. The ideal candidate is adaptable, dependable and educated. The teacher will establish a program and a class environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth by providing rich and engaging experiences. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students, motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for learning, in accordance with each student's ability, and creates and maintains good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Bachelor's Degree and a Pennsylvania Teaching Certification* in Music is required. Current clearances** are required and include:

  • Child Abuse History Clearance
  • PA Criminal Record Check
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance
  • Mandated Reporter of Child Abuse Training
  • Successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment Physical and TB Test. *If you have already obtained these clearances, they must be within one (1) year of hire date.

*Placeholder letters for pending certificates from a college/university are accepted until the Instructional I certificate is received.
**If you have already obtained these clearances, they must be within one (1) year of hire date.

Compensation is as follows:

  • Days 1-30 (non-consecutive): $120.00/day
  • 31+ Consecutive Days 85% of Step One (1) in the collective bargaining agreement
