GENERAL STATEMENT:

This is an office support position responsible for general administrative duties including the organization and maintenance of records, files, and manuals relating to the operation of the field office in the Division of Law Enforcement. Such records include, but are not limited to, official law enforcement documents, report forms, confidential investigative reports, general administrative records and files, and manuals

Duties include assisting supervisors, officers, and administrative support staff with the proper management and operation of the field office. Reviews, prepares drafts of memoranda and correspondence for staff. Completes assigned tasks related to, but not limited to: citations, subpoenas, off duty, vessel inspections, derelict vessels, purchasing (office and officer equipment needs), invoice processing, captive wildlife exams, events/outreach, printing/scanning needs, mail, publications, notary responsibilities.

Meets and communicates with the public in a courteous and professional manner, disseminates information and assists with requests.

Consults daily with office staff and management for administrative decisions. Reviews and interprets established policies and directives to ensure compliance with all assigned responsibilities. Provides information and recommendations for identifying and resolving related deficiencies.

Assist all administrative personnel with the Division of Law Enforcement’s Southwest Region. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by GOC and/or Regional Command staff.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
  • Working knowledge of current versions Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment and take directives from multiple individuals.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be willing to communicate effectively with the public in a courteous manner.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others.
  • Must be able to use personal computer.
  • Must be able to set up and organize office files.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a level 2 background check
