Permanent Part-Time role; 2 days per week
Location: Chatswood ( Ryde, Hornsby, North Shore & Northern Beaches)
Roster: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Classification: SCHADS Level 3 $38.65 per hour - $41.45 per hour + generous salary packaging benefits upto $18,500 pa

About CLS
The Community Living Supports (CLS) Of Uniting is a community outreach service assisting adults across NSW recover and transition to quality of life in the community. The service delivery is individualised and flexible. Targeting individuals with stable housing, service provision commences from the inpatient unit and transitions into the community.

The Mental Health Peer Support Worker / Lived Experience Worker will purposefully share their lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to support consumers on their recovery journey. Working closely with the Service Manager and broader team, you will provide individualised, recovery-oriented support to help consumers achieve their personal goals.
This role includes supporting consumers transitioning from inpatient units or correctional facilities into the community. You will work alongside individuals in their homes and communities, helping them build independence, strengthen social connections, and improve their wellbeing.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Draw from personal experiences to support others on their individual journey.
• Assist with consumer assessments and the development of individualised recovery plans.
• Provide tailored psychosocial support to consumers living with mental illness.
• Encourage independence, wellbeing, and community participation.
Essential Criteria:
• Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer work or equivalent relevant to the field of work.
• Personal lived experience of mental ill health and recovery, with the ability to use that experience purposefully to support others.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles of peer support and a willingness to share your experience in a purposeful way.
• Understanding of the Principles of Recovery Orientated Mental Health Practice.
• Demonstrated ability to develop individual support plans with consumers.
• A current full driver’s license.
• Ability to provide individualized psychosocial support to people living with severe and persistent mental illness
