Job Description

Peer Advocacy Development Officer | 10672 | Fixed Term Contract until June 2027 | 7.4 hours per week | £29,064 to £31,022 per annum pro rata (Scale F) | Norwich

Active Norfolk is getting Norfolk moving, bringing together partners to make a difference to the people of Norfolk who would benefit the most from becoming active, as well as helping to shape a future where being active is ‘just what people do’.

The Peer Advocacy Role will support us to deliver across a range of inclusive projects and programmes with the aim of creating more accessible physical activity opportunities for all in Norfolk.

We know that disabled people face significant challenges in participating, volunteering, and working in sport and physical activity for many reasons.

The role will look to address this by enhancing ways the user voice is heard, both internally and externally. Disabled people’s experiences and voices will be an essential part of shaping and leading this programme over the next year. The role will work with the Inclusion lead at Active Norfolk to ensure that user led feedback is directed to the best place to have an impact. We are looking for a proactive and innovative person who combines professional expertise with lived experience of disability.

Active Norfolk is striving to ensure our team reflects the diverse communities we aim to support, so we welcome applications from individuals of any background.

In return we think we have lots to offer. This is a role with an opportunity to make your own, If you think you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you.

This role is initially a one – year fixed term role. All our office-based roles work on a hybrid basis from home and our office base as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and wellbeing of all our colleagues. We anticipate that hybrid working will be a key feature of this role going forward – our office base is located at Easton College, Norwich.
