
The Division of Pediatric Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking an experienced, board-certified Pediatric Critical Care provider to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position is available on the Tenure, Clinician Educator, or Clinical Practice track. The Critical Care Division includes 12 faculty members who provide care in 42‑bed Medical/Surgical ICU, and who support a robust ACGME‑accredited fellowship training program. Academic track and rank will be commensurate with experience.

The PICU Medical Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the PICU, foster a culture of clinical excellence, and collaborate closely with nursing, quality and safety leaders, administrative partners, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of excellence in clinical care, outstanding leadership, communication, and team‑building skills, commitment to advancing the mission of the Division and the Department and experience in program development or operational leadership.
