About the Role

Leads Pediatrics department in accordance with the Hospital's vision, mission, goals, and objectives. Responsible for the overall administrative activities of the Department in addition to the clinical duties as a consultant.

Responsibilities

Clinical

• Oversee pediatric care and ensure high-quality diagnosis and treatment.
• Supervise staff to provide optimal patient care in line with hospital policies.
• Manage patients directly, coordinate with other departments, and perform procedures/surgeries within privileges.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, specialty clinics, and share on-call duties.

Academic

• Lead postgraduate training, CME activities, and educational programs.
• Mentor residents, fellows, and junior staff.
• Introduce new techniques and advances in pediatrics.
• Host and participate in national and international conferences.

Research

• Promote and lead clinical, basic, and translational research.
• Publish papers to enhance education and hospital recognition globally.

Administrative

• Develop departmental strategic plans aligned with hospital goals.
• Ensure quality standards, patient safety, and efficient resource utilization.
• Lead staff management, evaluations, and coverage planning.
• Collaborate across hospital departments to ensure integrated patient care.
• Manage budgets, capital equipment planning, and policy development.
• Chair departmental meetings and participate in hospital advisory councils.
• Act as a role model, enforce bylaws, and promote a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a medical school of good standing.
• Ten (10) years of clinical experience in a subspecialty including four (4) years in an admin.
• Board Certification or equivalent.
• Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required.
