Job Description
Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Pediatric Surgeon to provide comprehensive surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in pediatric surgical procedures, congenital conditions, and both elective and emergency pediatric surgery. Specialist Pediatric Surgery is an established DHA licensing title.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients requiring surgical intervention.
- Perform elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures within the scope of expertise.
- Manage congenital anomalies, gastrointestinal conditions, hernias, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, and pediatric surgical emergencies.
- Perform laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures where appropriately trained.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
- Provide post-operative care and monitor pediatric patients for complications.
- Manage neonatal and pediatric surgical emergencies when required.
- Review and interpret ultrasound, X-rays, CT, MRI, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Perform procedures for conditions such as inguinal hernia, hydrocele, undescended testes, appendicitis, and other common pediatric surgical disorders.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and recovery.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery, such as MS / MCh / DNB / FRCS / Arab Board or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
- Strong experience in pediatric and neonatal surgical care.
- Excellent clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
