
The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA) that is interested in working steady nights.
The PA will provide patient care services, including assessing and managing patients in the inpatient environment, by following established standards and practices. The PA will provide care to neonates, infants and children from birth to 21 years of age and must have a PA license to practice in Pennsylvania. This position will work steady nights, working three 12 hour shift one week and three 12 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift the next week, totaling 80 hours every pay period.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform complete physical exams and obtains complete medical history and records findings. 2. Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. 3. Interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan. 4. Prescribe medications in compliance with state law. 5. Provide support as well as information regarding patient’s condition, progress, and plan of care to parents/family, referring and consulting physicians.6. Instruct patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. 7. Provide continuity of patient care in collaboration with other health care professionals as appropriate. 8. Initiate or complete administrative tasks and acquires all necessary information, instructions, and materials as required. 9. Participate in activities that contribute to education and research.
