Scottish Rite for Children's pediatric specialists are at the forefront of their profession and are recognized globally for their leadership. We are seeking a board-certified or board eligible, fellowship-trained Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to lead our Motor Control program. Our Motor Control team provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and world- renowned care with the ultimate goal of helping them live a more independent life.
As an institution committed to caring for complex conditions, the team conducts ongoing research to provide the most innovative treatment to this patient population. Our team collaborates with Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Developmental Disabilities, and other medical team members to provide care to the whole child. Inpatient and outpatient care is provided to Scottish Rite for Children patients. Scottish Rite provides care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
Faculty appointment ranking through The University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center will be based on experience and is determined by UTSW.
Management of patient movement disorders such as spasticity, and dystonia
Perform general pediatric rehabilitation procedures including ITB pump management and botulinum toxin injections
Create and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, involving a combination of medical interventions and therapies
Inpatient therapy admissions and consultations as needed
Develop, maintain and promote effective working relationships with other physicians and hospital staff
Collaborate with other clinicians to provide excellent multidisciplinary care including therapy services, orthotics, child life and gait lane analysis
Supervise and teach child and adult residents, fellows, and medical students
Participate in research
Participate in institution-wide committees, as appointed
Performs other duties as assigned
Candidates must be eligible for licensure to practice Medicine in Texas
Board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
