Job Description

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric hand and upper extremity surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or eligible for such certification.

Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic instruction of medical students, orthopaedic surgery residents, pediatric orthopaedic surgery fellows, and hand surgery fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include building a practice in pediatric hand surgery, with additional duties in orthopedic surgery depending on candidate training.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical and/or basic science investigations in the field of orthopaedic surgery and, specifically, hand surgery.

Completion of an accredited hand surgery fellowship is required. Preference will be given to candidates that have additional fellowship training in pediatric hand surgery. The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
