Imagine starting your day amidst the serene beauty of Northern New York and the Thousand Islands and then working with one of the most established and respected pediatric practices in the North Country. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a dynamic team in a hospital-employed outpatient practice serving the tri-county residents. As a leading healthcare organization, North Star is committed to delivering cutting-edge patient care while advancing medical knowledge through innovative research and continuous learning.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that values collaboration and the highest levels of clinical expertise. You will collaborate with 4 other pediatricians and 3 advanced practitioners, working in close coordination between 2 outpatient locations. This role offers a balance of professional fulfillment and work-life balance, set in a picturesque region with abundant outdoor activities and proximity to major cities like Syracuse, Ottawa, and Montreal.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physicians and other specialists to develop and execute comprehensive patient care plans.

  • Utilize your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of pediatric conditions.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure thorough understanding of care plans, treatments, and disease management.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Educate patients and families on preventative measures, disease management, and available treatment options to empower informed decision-making.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and share ideas to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development by attending relevant trainings, conferences, and workshops.

  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Contribute to a positive, team-based work culture by mentoring colleagues and actively participating in team meetings.

  • Follow all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff alike.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years and experience managing pediatric conditions.

  • Possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

  • Be passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

  • Be committed to staying current with the latest advancements in pediatrics and applying new knowledge to benefit patients.
