The Department of Neurology at The University of Texas Dell Medical School (DMS), in conjunction with UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s, is recruiting a general pediatric neurologist to join our growing Pediatric Neurology faculty. The UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s is a multidisciplinary program collaboration between Dell Medical School and Dell Children’s Medical Center that encompasses pediatric neurology, pediatric rehabilitation medicine, pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric neuropsychology, and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology. We are excited to expand our pediatric neurology faculty which is currently comprised of 17 pediatric neurologists and 10 nurse practitioners along with extensive allied professionals and staff including nursing, medical assistants, technicians, research associates, quality improvement experts, and well-being leaders. Since the neuroscience program’s inception in 2019, the pediatric neurology faculty has enjoyed rapid growth with subspecialty expertise in epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, stroke, headache, neurogenetics, neurodevelopment, neonatal critical care, autonomics, and neuroimmunology. The hospital supports our consultation neurology services, and outpatient space is available in the adjoining 40,000 square foot neurosciences clinic within the Dell Children’s Specialty Pavilion.
The pediatric neurosciences program currently hosts a child neurology residency along with fellowships in pediatric epilepsy, pediatric headache, and pediatric neuropsychology. Adult neurophysiology residents train in the pediatric program, and we plan to add fellowships in pediatric neuromuscular disease and pediatric rehabilitation medicine.
Dell Children’s Medical Center is a 300-bed freestanding facility that features a level 1 pediatric trauma center, a level 4 neonatal intensive care unit, a level 4 epilepsy center, a CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit, and Magnet recognition for nursing excellence.
