Pediatric Nephrologists with Clinical and/or Research Focused Scientists
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, and Children’s Health Dallas seeks to hire outstanding individuals to join our rapidly growing, collaborative and academic group in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology.
Clinically Focused Positions:
- This clinical focused faculty members are responsible will be responsible for attending inpatient, dialysis and ambulatory services. Responsibilities include supervision and teaching of pediatric residents, medical students and pediatric nephrology fellows from UT Southwestern Medical School.
- Our program is one of the largest and most modern dialysis units in the country with approximately 50 chronic dialysis patients divided between hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
- The main hospital has a large intensive care patient population housed in the PICU, NICU, and CVICU for which we provide consultation and all modalities of CRRT including PrisMax, Aquadex, Carpediem, and MARS under the umbrella of our acute care nephrology program
- Robust outpatient general nephrology program, multidisciplinary stone center, and an active kidney transplant program
- We perform 15-20 kidney transplants per year and follow more than 200 kidney transplant patients
About the Division and UT Southwestern

- ACGME accredited fellowship program funded by Children’s Health
- Divisional support encompassing 12 advanced practice providers in the inpatient and outpatient setting
- Historical record of supporting outstanding clinically focused nephrologists and NIH-funded basic scientists
- Institutional commitment in support of clinical research endeavors and physician scientists by providing additional funding from the Dean’s office and financial incentives for extra-mural funding
- UTSW is home to a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program, which provides many opportunities for internal funding and other resources
- Children’s Clinical Research Advisory Council Grants (CCRAC) is another mechanism for intramural funding through the hospital
- 39 CORE Facilities
- Robust faculty development opportunities, including grant writing courses, leadership training, as well as many opportunities to participate in educational endeavors, quality improvement projects, and to collaborate with basic scientists and other clinical researchers within the medical school
Qualifications
Clinical applicants must be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas be board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology. Clinical or Research candidates are required to have an MD, MD/PhD, PhD or equivalent degree. Academic rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
