Job Description

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding individual for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism at UT Southwestern and Children’s Health Dallas.

The Division is responsible for the diagnosis and care of children with genetic and metabolic diseases at Children’s Health Dallas, and in the neonatal units of University-affiliated hospitals, including Parkland Hospital, a large county hospital with nearly 16,000 deliveries per year. We seek applicants at any level of experience in dysmorphology and/or inborn errors of metabolism. A unique component of these positions is the integration of our clinical Division with the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute (CRI), a highly collaborative basic and translational research institute dedicated to performing transformative research related to pediatric health, specifically in inherited diseases (https://cri.utsw.edu/genetic-and-metabolic-disease-program/). Both clinicians and physician-scientists in the Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism have access to research-based sequencing, metabolomics and informatics through the CRI to complement clinical diagnostics.

Children’s Health Dallas is a 500 bed facility that provides the majority of pediatric inpatient care for the Dallas metropolitan area. The Division of Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism has a full range of support staff and an ACGME-approved residency program in Medical Genetics. UT Southwestern Medical Center is one of the nation's top medical schools, providing an outstanding environment for clinical care, training and research. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex boasts a strong economy, a wide range of cultural and recreational opportunities, and many communities with affordable high quality housing and excellent schools.
