As part of its efforts to expand scholarly and clinical activities, the Department of Pediatrics at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible (BC/BE) candidate for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. This position involves providing patient care for referrals from the central Gulf Coast, offering clinical instruction to medical students and pediatric and medicine-pediatric residents, and participating in clinical research projects. Faculty members in the Department of Pediatrics hold active staff privileges at USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital. The level of appointment is open and will be commensurate with experience and academic productivity. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package. Our team consists of five physicians, one nurse practitioner, a dietitian, and four dedicated GI nurses. USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital is a standalone facility featuring a 100-bed NICU that provides specialized care for extremely premature infants. The hospital also has a dedicated endoscopy suite with comprehensive anesthesia support. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in intestinal rehabilitation, short bowel syndrome, and parenteral nutrition. Experience in managing liver disorders would be a valuable asset.
The ideal candidate should be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Alabama.
