Function as a specialist and consultant in pediatric gastroenterology and have the administrative and clinical responsibility for a major section of medical service or direction of a specific treatment or diagnostic unit or program.
1. Directs the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in rendering medical or surgical treatment to patients.
2. Offer comments and recommendations relative to the adequacy of equipment and personnel utilized in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Recommend equipment need, modernization and assist with input to capital budget projects.
3. Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested.
4. Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
5. Provide call and or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairperson.
6. Participate in scholarly activities and research.
7. Assume responsibility and supervision of educational programs for residents as it applies to the Division. Responsible for reviewing medical content of resident's entries into the medical records and evaluating the clinical competence of residents.
8. Specific departmental duties as assigned by the Chairperson.
9. Provide services at other area hospitals as assigned by the Department Chairperson.
10. Other related duties as assigned
