Job Description

Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer I - (2600029P)

 What You Will Do
  • Serves as registry eligible sonographer; will be trained and must be willing to learn and perform all aspects of echocardiography exam under medical supervision.
  • Performs administrative tasks to contribute to the successful operation of the department.
  • Follows established guidelines for cleaning, storing & disinfecting equipment per Manufacturer, ODH, IAC and JCAHO standards.
  • Participates in a learning environment, including continued development and learning of knowledge and skills.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
 

Qualifications

 Education
  • Graduate of an Accredited Program in Cardiovascular Sonography (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of cardiac pathology; (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of the fundamentals of echocardiography (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to learn to use all types of echo machines; basic computer skills; good communication skills (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) within 1 Year (Required)
  • RCS within 1 Year (Required)
