Summary

Job Description:

GSO Peace on Purpose Life Coaches will maintain a caseload of up to 1 O individuals identified as being at the highest risk for involvement in violence, in collaboration with the Greensboro Police Department (GPO) and/or Project Safe Neighborhoods partners. Life Coaches will provide intensive, trauma-informed case management, peer support, individualized service planning, and ongoing mentorship to address participants' needs, reduce risk factors associated with violence, and connect individuals to critical community resources that promote long-term stability and positive outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload of up to 1 o high-risk individuals
  • Provide trauma-informed case management, peer support, coaching, and mentoring focused on personal growth, accountability, decision-making, conflict resolution, and positive life choices.
  • Assess participant needs, risks, strengths, and goals and develop individualized service plans.
  • Help participants identify and address risk and protective factors associated with violence, retaliation, substance use, unemployment, housing instability, and other challenges.
  • Provide crisis intervention and problem-solving support when participants experience situations that may increase their risk of violence or destabilization.
  • Connect participants to housing, employment, education, healthcare, behavioral health, and other community resources.
  • Support participants in reducing risk factors associated with violence and developing positive decision-making, conflict-resolution, and life skills.
  • Maintain consistent participant engagement through regular meetings, outreach, and community-based support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of participant contacts, referrals, progress, and outcomes.
  • Advocate for participants and assist them in navigating community and social service systems.
  • Collaborate with community partners and participate in case coordination and team meetings.
  • Help participants strengthen positive social networks and community connections that support healthy decision-making and reduce exposure to violence.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, supervision, case consultations, and professional development activities.
  • Support program outreach and community engagement efforts that promote the goals of Peace on Purpose and violence prevention.
  • Collaborate with the Violence Prevention Supervisor on GSO Peace on Purpose initiatives focused on violence prevention, crisis intervention, community engagement, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and community safety.
  • Track hours and activities and complete required grant reports and documentation
