Schedule: 6am-6pm
Rochester Regional's Senior Patient Care Technician p rovides direct or indirect patient care in accordance with treatment plans as determined and delegated by a licensed nurse. Assists with tasks necessary for the general management and organization of the patient care unit, being flexible meeting patient and/or unit needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides guidance to Patient Care Technicians including but not limited to scheduling, patient care deployment.
Employ safe and competent care for patients with relationship to the patient’s hygiene, skin integrity, nutritional and elimination needs.
Assist with the admission, discharge, transfer, transport and repositioning of patients.
Perform correct procedures in the collection and disposition of specimens. Perform and record technical procedures as delegated.
Observe, report, and document questionable patient conditions to the licensed nurse on duty.
Ensure medical equipment is clean, maintained and functional and refers equipment for needed repairs.
Monitors and maintains unit supply usage.
Implements appropriate interventions to address the mobility needs of the patient.
Unit secretarial responsibilities and special projects
Scheduling follow up examinations, testing and in Surgical Services, possible scrub duties
Secure transport of non-controlled medications from pharmacy to unit and from unit-to-unit when transporting patients in accordance with designated process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age requirement: 18
2 years experience in Patient Care Technician role
OR
Completion of Nursing Fundamentals or C.N.A certification
OR
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Technician, or Technologist in a healthcare setting, or successful completion of a Patient Care Technician training program.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
