Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking experienced technicians to join the PCS Department.
An ideal candidate is hands‑on, has a technical mindset, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, improving all equipment, processes, and systems used in UV wafer manufacturing.
The technician will partner with Engineers, Production, and Quality to execute preventative maintenance (PM), change‑point management (CPM), failure analysis, and process rework while remaining compliant with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) protocols.
This role requires a blend of deep technical skill, analytical thinking, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance
Execute PM & CPM routines per SOPs.
Identify and implement improvement projects to shorten MTBF & increase uptime.
Select and approve replacement parts, submit vendor invoices.
Troubleshooting & Root‑Cause Analysis
Conduct failure analysis using scripting and data tools.
Anticipate potential failures and propose pre‑emptive solutions.
Document findings in maintenance & quality systems.
Process & Equipment Monitoring
Monitor equipment/process performance, flag deviations, and propose inline adjustments.
Use sophisticated analytics to evaluate operating data for continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
Work with Engineering and Production to support system set‑up and calibration.
Serve as liaison between Engineering and Operations on maintenance scheduling.
Project & Change Management
Identify new assignments or projects that align with departmental priorities.
Participate on cross‑functional teams and contribute to high‑impact initiatives beyond routine maintenance.
Health & Safety Compliance
Follow all SAS FAB clean‑room protocols and PPE requirements.
Handle hazardous chemicals and equipment per EHS guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
2-year college degree or technical school certification preferred.
In addition, typically requires 8 years of related experience.
Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
Advanced proficiency in preventative and corrective maintenance.
Strong multi‑variable analytical skills and understanding of manufacturing indices.
Proven ability to troubleshoot to root cause and develop innovative solutions.
Excellent cross‑functional communication; comfortable mentoring and training.
Skilled in process ownership and prioritization of tasks and schedules.
Demonstrated initiative on projects beyond routine sustaining work.

The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60 - $45/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
