Job Description

In your role as an Equipment Shift Engineer you'll be responsible for documenting, trending, and sustaining the overall health of the PCS equipment fleet. The PCS equipment fleet includes dry vacuum Pumps, heat-exchanging Chillers, chemical abatement Scrubbers, and associated Accessory equipment like gate valves, pipe heaters, and N2 injection systems. The core job tasks include the identification of data sets that define equipment condition, organization of data trends to display the health of equipment via real-time dashboard, and creation of work processes and expectations to take action on fleet trends.

Also, you'll be responsible to develop functional knowledge of all PCS equipment types and collaborate with each equipment team to monitor, control, and sustain fleet health using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Equipment Expertise

    • Understand the core function of each PCS equipment type

    • Demonstrate knowledge of design concepts across each PCS equipment type

    • Learn the common failure modes in each PCS equipment type

    • Identify the roster of parameters each equipment is capable of measuring

  • Maintenance and Procedure

    • Understand the maintenance procedures for each equipment type

    • Learn how each team schedules maintenance on equipment

    • Establish expectations on maintenance procedures and define constraints for failure conditions

  • Fleet Health Visibility

    • Compile data sets of equipment parameters and rank them by health based on value

    • Evaluate parameter values using SPC methodologies and define spec limits

    • Build and modify dashboards that visualize the performance and health of equipment

    • Automate escalations of equipment issues based on spec limits

    • Create and enforce procedures that are used to address fleet health issues

  • Engineering Reliability

    • Analyze equipment performance and derive improvement opportunities

    • Author preventive‑maintenance schedules based on usage hours, manufacturer recommendations, and failure‑mode analyses

    • Perform root‑cause investigations for abnormal equipment failures

    • Organize and lead projects that have clearly defined benefits and ROI

  • Team Collaboration

    • Interface with equipment engineer peers to drive improvements in their respective modules

    • Manage competing priorities within each module and generate progress on the important initiatives

  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Produce and maintain operating manuals, SOPs, and fleet records

    • Submit monthly KPI dashboards (pump uptime, mean‑time‑between‑failure)

    • Record all incident reports for audit purposes

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • ​Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Process Engineering

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with sub-fab systems in semiconductor industry

  • Experience in other manufacturing environments with large quantities of equipment

  • Proficiency in data/statistical analytics

  • Experience with mechanical repair of equipment

  • Knowledge of common industrial sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and how to implement them in industry.

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
