Base Pay Range: $22.21 - $30 an hour

Banner Engineering has a comprehensive and advanced printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) operation that includes surface mount technology (SMT), chip-on-board (COB), automated and manual through-hole soldering, depanelization, and electrical test. We are currently looking to add an experienced technician to our Brooklyn Park MN team to help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment within these

operations. According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on PCBA manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software-related equipment issues.
  • Diagnose root causes of equipment downtime and implement corrective actions.
  • Document maintenance and repairs within maintenance management systems.
  • Support and maintain a variety of PCBA manufacturing equipment including:
    • SMT printers
    • Pick-and-place machines
    • SPI and AOI systems
    • Reflow ovens
    • Selective solder equipment
    • Depaneling systems
    • Chip-on-board production equipment
    • Dispensing machines
    • PCB handling conveyors and automation equipment
    • Electrical test equipment
    • Component storage systems
  • Respond to equipment failures and line-down situations in a timely manner.
  • Perform equipment tuning and optimization to improve throughput and yield.
  • Support calibration and verification activities.
  • Participate in root cause investigation and corrective action activities.
  • Assist engineering teams with manufacturing projects and equipment evaluations.

Required

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or 5+ years of highly relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting, maintaining, configuring/programming, and operating equipment in a PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, and common maintenance practices.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Schematic and electrical component knowledge.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, with a strong general PC aptitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend new hardware and software systems.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude who enjoys working with others.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and complete work assignments.

Preferred

  • IPC soldering or rework certification.
  • Detailed knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance software systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment.
