Our client is seeking a precision-driven PCB Layout Engineer to join their engineering team. You will be responsible for transforming complex electrical schematics into high-performance, manufacturable printed circuit board designs. This role is critical in bridging the gap between innovative circuit design and seamless production, with a heavy emphasis on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
End-to-End Design: Execute full-lifecycle PCB design, from initial component placement and stack-up definition to routing and final production release for complex analog and digital circuits.
Power Electronics Optimization: Specialize in the layout and selection of components for high-performance Power Boards, ensuring thermal management and signal integrity.
Technical Interpretation: Analyze and interpret complex datasheets, mechanical constraints, and engineering sketches to create functional, space-optimized designs.
Manufacturing Readiness: Rigorously apply DFM and DFT principles to minimize production errors, reduce fabrication costs, and ensure first-pass success.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to IPC Class 3 and IEEE standards, particularly for ruggedized Aerospace and Defense applications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with mechanical and systems engineers to manage physical constraints and ensure seamless integration into product enclosures.
Library Management: Maintain and expand E-CAD libraries, including schematic symbols and high-accuracy PCB footprints.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent professional experience.
Experience: 5+ years of industry experience specifically in high-complexity PCB layout and circuit design.
Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency inAltium Designer and KiCAD.
DFM/DFT Expertise: Proven track record of designing boards that are optimized for high-volume manufacturing and automated testing.
Technical Depth: Deep understanding of multi-layer stack-ups, impedance control, and high-speed signal routing.
Certifications: IPC CID or CID+ (Certified Interconnect Designer).
Specialized Experience: Prior experience with Power Electronics or power distribution systems.
Industry Knowledge: Background in high-reliability environments such as Aerospace, Defense, or AI/Machine Learning hardware.
