This position is required to provide IT Desktop Support for Arizona Department of Health Services personnel. This position will provide 2nd tier computer support for ADHS to include desktops, and computer peripherals. This position is responsible for routine testing and analysis of Local Area Network hardware and software and for monitoring LAN performance and recommending corrective action when necessary. In addition, this position will serve as a technical resource to Desktop Support technicians, installs and maintains midrange operating systems, test Lab Environment, and related software to ensure stable performance, evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, and troubleshoots networking and operating system problems. This position is required to support the Health Services (HS) domain with approximately 2,400 users. This position supports multiple platforms and or applications, Health Emergency Operations Center, Preparedness Activations, Active Directory, and other application servers as assigned.
Responsibilities include:
• Hardware upgrades, PC deployments, and ticket resolution.
• Software installation, and configuration.
• Diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Provide training and assistance to staff.
• Prepare reports and document resolutions.
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge of:
• Deep knowledge of PC hardware and Windows software including operating systems, Microsoft Office, ODBC/databases.
• Understanding of networking concepts.
• Knowledge of Apple devices and enrollment into a MDM system.
• Requires at least three years full-time desktop support experience, or at least one of the following certifications: Comp TIA A+, Microsoft MCDST.
• Intermediate knowledge of data management and systems administration is preferable.
• Google platform.
• Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.
Skilled in:
• Advanced troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service.
• Working with non-technical audiences.
• comp TIA A+, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to:
• Monitor division goals and objectives effectively and adjust work-plans as needed.
• Collaborate with staff on technical problems and assist in developing means to correct problems.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats and provide on-going consultation and technical assistance in an efficient and effective manner.
• Interpret state and federal regulatory/management laws, rules and guidance.
• Diagnose hardware issues down to the component level.

• Associate’s degree plus 1 –3 years of experience in desktop support (or equivalent experience).
• Driver’s License
• Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S. §36-113.
