Job Description

The Strategy Business Analyst, based in SCOR’s Bucharest office, supports the Paris-based P&C Strategy team in producing, consolidating, and analysing the data required for various strategic workstreams.

The role spans all pillars of the team’s mandate—Strategic Planning, Business Development, Strategic External Reporting & Messaging, Client Management and VoC (Voice of Clients), as well as support to the P&C CEO Office— ensuring high-quality data, a clear understanding of SCOR P&C’s key performance indicators (KPIs), and consistent, accurate messaging.

Backbone responsibilities


• Serve as relevant point of contact for all questions related to P&C figures within the Strategy team’s scope:
o Master SCOR tools (e.g., Peak, Planning Tool) and visualization (e.g., Tableau/Power BI) to extract, validate, and produce reliable data.
o Develop strong expertise on KPIs by line of business and by region.
o Proactively identify inconsistencies, unusual trends, or significant variations and investigate their root causes.
o Drive improvements in data visualization and reporting.

Strategic External Reporting & Messaging


a. Renewals
• Regularly update renewal presentation figures based on data provided by Analytics and Business Insights (ABI) team (January Renewals, April Renewals, June/July Renewals).
• Track the evolution of figures, identify changes or irregularities, and conduct necessary investigations.
• Prepare summaries and mini “deep dives” for top management.
• Structure and format presentation.

b. Rating Agency Meetings
• Update presentation data in collaboration with ABI.
• Perform necessary analysis to support key messages.
• Structure and format presentation.

c. Other external deliverables (URD, Investors Day, Marketing materials...)
• Provide reliable, well-documented P&C data in response to requests from various internal stakeholders.

Strategic Planning


• Contribute to the preparation of analyses for the development of the upcoming Strategic Plan (data collection, web research, internal research).
• Support the monitoring of the ongoing strategic plan and associated KPIs.

Market Intelligence


• Prepare benchmarks and analyses on business lines and geographies, using internal and external data.
• Produce market shares analyses.
• Conduct competitive intelligence and maintain up-to-date insights on market developments.

Budget & HC monitoring


• Support the Strategy team in its budget related activities, including monitoring and reconciliations in coordination with the COO teams.

Client Management / VOC


• Provide client‑related figures for dedicated initiatives or for preparing briefing materials ahead of management client meetings.
• Act as a support to the VOC team in the following tasks: campaign preparation and monitoring in Salesforce, survey testing & translations, updating surveymonkey dashboards and dedicated SharePoint pages.

Ad Hoc Requests (Business Development & Special Projects)


• Produce data, analyses, or reports based on specific needs using available tools.
• Contribute to special projects and one-off initiatives led by the team.

Experience:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in finance, strategy, or related functions within financial institutions, consulting firms, and/or insurance or reinsurance companies.

Personal Competencies:

  • Ability to contribute to varied workstreams requiring analytical skills, strong rigor and adaptability.

  • Ability to collaborate with a wide network of internal teams in various countries and understand their needs and facilitate smooth information flows.

  • A “can do” mindset and the ability to operate within SCOR’s culture: the jobholder will frequently work on new and complex topics, requiring practicality, resourcefulness, and strong teamwork to deliver results.
