RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in operating a multi-line Cisco telephone system, performing functions previously handled through a multi-position switchboard, Handles emergency stat calls and uses desktop computer software to carry out notification of staff, to access inpatient census to assist callers, and to assist in clerical and other incidental activities. Performs telecommunication operations and related activities in accordance with University Health policies ensuring prompt, efficient and courteous handling of all calls. Maintains good guest and working relationships. Monitors, receives, and responds to emergency code calls in accordance with organizational protocols, ensuring timely and accurate communication during critical incidents. Initiate and manage Everbridge mass notifications, including creating, updating, and sending alerts for emergencies, operational disruptions, and other time sensitive events. Maintain accurate and complete entries related to emergency calls, notifications, and incident details within the Everbridge system and other designated logs. Coordinate with internal teams, leadership, and external partners to ensure emergency messages are delivered promptly and appropriately. Perform routine system checks to verify Everbridge functionality and report any issues to the appropriate technical or administrative contacts. Support after action reviews by providing documentation, timelines, and communication records related to emergency notifications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Specialized training in operation of multi-positioned voip telephone for call transfers is preferred. familiarity with overhead paging systems is preferred. Two years or more of aforementioned experience with experience in a hospital or related health care setting is preferred. One year experience with Windows latest Operating Systems and Office products such as Word and Excel is preferred. Six months experience with everbridge electronic notification system and/or a physician on-call system is preferred. Familiarity with phone call dashboard reporting tolls such as ARC is preferred.
