The Life-Safety Systems Division (LSSD) of the NYPD ensures the continuity, maintenance, and technical support of critical public safety communications, electronic systems, and broadband infrastructure to enhance the operational readiness of law enforcement and emergency response services. A core responsibility enhancing and preserving the continuity and support of PSAC (Public Safety Answering Center) E-911 Systems including the Citywide Public Safety Communications Radio Infrastructure. This includes managing and supporting the IT systems for the Communications section (911) and law enforcement personnel in the field.
The selected candidate will be assigned to Payroll/Clerical Functions for the Life-Safety Systems Division consisting of approximately 75 MOS. The selected candidate will process overtime slips, make adjustments in City Time, and maintain other Department records.
The Printing Section provides print materials upon request by the NYPD. The Printing Section is a full service in-plant print facility comparable to any commercial printing establishment in the
private sector. There three (3) methods of printing offered, inkjet, digital and conventional offset. The Printing Section handles design work, print production finishing and distribution. Print material produced includes books, manuals, flyers, maps, posters, stationery, program booklets, targets, banners, secure items.
Duties performed under supervision include clerical and related work, data entry, write work orders, invoicing, communication response, telephone calls, emails, customer service, provide work order status, assist administrative team with records, and research.

The Printing Section operates in a production environment. There are several large production printers, printing presses and commercial grade bindery machines located onsite.
In compliance with federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
