The Position

The Opportunity

As a Payroll, Time & Benefits Specialist, you will ensure that Roche’s people practices work seamlessly for the business by managing the end-to-end execution of payroll, tax, and social insurance. You will play a vital role in providing advisory support and maintaining data integrity while keeping customer-focused principles at the heart of every interaction.

  • Execute end-to-end payroll activities, including data maintenance for tax, social insurance, and local/global benefits administration with high accuracy.

  • Provide expert customer service by resolving complex inquiries, managing requests, and troubleshooting issues related to pay, time, and benefits.

  • Oversee time and absence management, collaborating with managers to ensure compliance with local policies and accuracy in employee records.

  • Manage technical data flows, monitoring Workday integrations and processing mass upload files to ensure vendor accuracy and timely processing.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance across various countries and jurisdictions, keeping up-to-date with evolving legal requirements and internal documentation.

  • Foster key stakeholder relationships, partnering proactively with P&C Chapters and providing guidance to first-level support teams to enhance service delivery.

  • Drive continuous improvement by participating in global projects and implementing initiatives to optimize performance and service quality.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for customer centricity. You thrive in fast-paced, multicultural environments and take full accountability for delivering consistent, high-quality results across borders.

  • Professional Experience: You bring 1–3 years of experience in payroll services and benefits administration, ideally within a Shared Service Center environment.

  • Language Skills: You are fluent in German and English

  • Technical Proficiency: You have advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables) and a solid understanding of the payroll cycle and HR processes.

  • Analytical Ability: You have an excellent eye for detail and can navigate complex data structures to resolve errors and ensure accuracy.

  • Matrix Collaboration: You have a proven track record of delivering results in a matrix organization and are comfortable working independently with competing priorities.

  • Solution Orientation: You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, utilizing active listening and critical thinking to drive process improvements.

  • Growth Mindset: You are adaptable to change, enjoy learning new tools (such as Workday or ServiceNow), and thrive in ambiguous situations.
