This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.

That’s what makes us Roche

As a Payroll, Time & Benefits Specialist supporting Roche New Zealand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our people-related operations run seamlessly. You will ensure our internal solutions deliver exceptional impact through responsive service, accurate data management, and trusted partnerships—ultimately supporting the people who help healthcare providers offer better care to their patients.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be the dedicated point of contact for payroll, time, and benefits administration for the New Zealand market, working within a global network to provide consistent and effective services.

Service Delivery & Operations

  • End-to-End Payroll & Benefits: Execute system data maintenance for payroll, tax, social insurance, and New Zealand-specific benefits. Manage mass upload files and monitor data flows between Workday and external vendors to ensure timely, error-free processing.

  • Inquiry Management: Provide high-quality customer service for pay, time, and benefits inquiries, ensuring end-to-end ownership of resolution according to defined KPIs and ServiceNow OKRs.

  • Compliance & Policy: Maintain deep knowledge of local New Zealand time/absence policies and ensure all processes comply with country-specific regulations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with managers to verify employee time entries and develop proactive relationships with key stakeholders to drive customer-focused outcomes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in project activities, maintain process documentation (KA, SWIs), and provide guidance to first-level support teams to enhance service delivery.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with P&C colleagues and global peers to ensure the People Support Solutions network provides consistent services.

  • Achieve our P&C vision by driving local consistency through global collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Outputs & Deliverables

  • Continuous contribution to the performance improvement of People Support Solutions.

  • Maintaining high customer satisfaction through consistent, high-quality delivery and the application of customer care principles.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for payroll excellence and a desire to work in a multicultural, cross-border environment.

  • You have 1–3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a shared service center environment, with a strong understanding of payroll cycles.

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • You possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) and the ability to analyze complex data sets. Familiarity with Workday or ServiceNow is a plus.

  • You are a strong communicator in English (written and spoken), capable of managing stakeholders across different time zones.

  • You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and demonstrate a Growth Mindset by seeking new learning opportunities and acting on feedback.

  • You live Customer Centricity by anticipating needs and showing end-to-end accountability for every outcome.
