Flynn Group of Companies, North America’s leading building envelope contractor, is seeking a Payroll Technical Specialist (SAP) resource to join our IT Department in Mississauga, reporting to the HRIS‑Payroll Systems Manager.

The Payroll Technical Specialist (SAP), hands‑on technical role responsible for the configuration, integration support, and stability of SAP payroll solutions. This position serves as the technical and configuration authority for SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP), ensuring accurate, compliant, and reliable payroll processing across all payroll cycles and SAP tenants.

Working closely with Payroll, HRIS, Integration, and Testing teams, this role designs and supports complex payroll solutions including union rules, retroactivity, off‑cycle payrolls, integrations, and year‑end legislative changes.

A Day in the Life:

Payroll Configuration, Integration & Support

• Act as the configuration authority for SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP)
• Design, configure, and maintain payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, and functions
• Implement and support payroll solutions for:
• Union and collective bargaining agreements
• Retroactive and off‑cycle payroll processing
• Year‑end and legislative changes
• Complex earnings, deductions, and benefits
• Support payroll‑related integrations across SAP ECP, Employee Central, CPI, and downstream systems (e.g., Workforce)
• Maintain configuration integrity across multiple SAP tenants (Production and non‑Production)

Troubleshooting, Releases & Change Management

• Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex payroll and integration issues
• Provide production support during critical payroll cycles, including year‑end
• Conduct impact analysis for SAP releases, upgrades, and support packs
• Support regression testing, release readiness, and change governance
• Ensure configuration changes are documented, auditable, and approved

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with Payroll and HRIS on system design and enhancements
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to Payroll Systems Specialist and Testers
• Contribute to documentation, configuration standards, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll stability, efficiency, and internal capability

What We Are Seeking

• 5+ yrs of hands-on experience configuring SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) schemas supporting Canadian and/or U.S. payroll
• Strong technical expertise in SAP payroll configuration, including schemas, PCRs, wage types, and payroll functions
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting SAP CPI integrations related to payroll and HR systems
• Experience working across multi-tenant SAP landscapes (Production and non-Production environments)
• SAP Payroll / ECP certification — required or strongly preferred
• Exposure to SAP CPI integrations is an asset
